Your New Role…
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Production for its UK & European operations. This senior position will report into the Vice President, Production Management & Operations, UK & Europe. Key responsibilities include overseeing multi-sport content across various sports on our platforms, supporting strategy, planning, and content delivery from events like the Olympics to Motorsport, Snooker, Tennis, Golf, Sailing, Wintersport, and more. This role requires proven experience in Senior Production Management, budget oversight, and a solution-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
Your Role Accountabilities…
- Lead and manage planning, execution, and delivery of multi-sport content across WBD Sports Europe platforms, aligning with company strategy, editorial vision, and budget.
- Oversee the full production lifecycle from planning to post-production, ensuring projects meet deadlines and financial goals, with balanced internal resources across sports.
- Manage the Production Management team, including recruitment, onboarding, and overseeing freelance talent, commentators, and crew. Represent the department in external workforce initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freelance crews, vendors, federations, and organizing committees.
- Handle the annual production budget, reporting, and forecasting in collaboration with the Vice President, ensuring efficient spend and financial control.
- Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders such as Technology, Operations, IT, Finance, Digital, Legal, Talent, and external partners.
- Proactively resolve issues, manage conflicts, and ensure safety and security measures are adhered to, including health and safety protocols and insurance.
- Lead relevant projects and workstreams supporting broader business needs.
- Oversee tender processes for onsite broadcasts, working with Procurement and technical teams to ensure proper setup and contracts.
Qualifications & Experience…
- Extensive experience in senior sports production management, overseeing UK & European sports content.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of influencing and collaborating with senior leadership and external partners.
- Decisive, positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to last-minute changes, and execute evolving plans.
- Technical knowledge of sports TV & digital production.
- Budget management and contract negotiation expertise.
- Discretion handling confidential information and engaging with high-level stakeholders.
- Innovative mindset, seeking efficiencies and improvements.
- Strategic, solution-oriented, and capable of leading teams through change.
Hybrid working model combining remote and in-office work, subject to company policy and manager approval. WBD reserves the right to modify this arrangement as needed.
