Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering within the Commercial & Investment Bank Markets Technology team to lead the front-office, desk-critical workflow technology.

You will set the vision for end-to-end stack delivery, partnering with Trading leadership and Quants/Strats to shape the roadmap, ensure production readiness, and mentor a high-performing team to drive innovation and excellence.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in software engineering, system design, testing strategy and operability.
• Experience in Commodities Front Office Technology, supporting exotics/desk workflows.
• Significant experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale systems.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage multi-team dependencies.
• Experience introducing agentic AI-enabled engineering operating models and governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute engineering strategy for desk workflow and tooling.
• Partner with Traders, Desk Heads, Quants/Strats, and Ops to deliver value.
• Represent the desk tech organization in senior forums and secure commitments.
• Oversee end-to-end SDLC delivery with focus on production readiness and front-office responsiveness.
• Establish delivery rhythms and a production-first culture including observability and controls.
• Lead design and delivery of integrated workflows across the trade lifecycle.
• Coordinate cross-team releases with strong change management.
• Set engineering standards for architecture, security, testing, CI/CD and incident response.
• Drive portfolio-level AI-enabled delivery standards, governance, and reuse.
