Job Title: Senior Director of Business Development – EU / UK
Location: London with Travel
Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Business Development to lead and drive business development and capture management activities across NATO countries, including UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Finland, and Eastern European regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction in identifying critical customer requirements.
- Develop and lead capture plans aligned with organisational growth objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities, manage and maintain Salesforce pipeline.
- Build and manage relationships with local partners, consultants, and resellers.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other functional teams.
- Represent the organisation at relevant trade shows and industry events.
- Support proposal development and submission efforts.
- Drive the implementation of opportunities across cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, OR 15+ years professional experience.
- Minimum 10 years of International Capture Management / Business Development experience, specifically related to military products.
- Minimum 5 years of Capture Management experience working with Ministries of Defence and governmental defence agencies across European nations.
- Direct experience with NATO NSPA or other European contracting portals.
- Experience working with Significant Military Equipment (SME) and ITAR-controlled products.
- Strong understanding of export regulations, including European tax implications (VAT, customs, etc.).
- Familiarity with European tender processes, including quality and labour standards.
- English-speaking required; additional European languages highly desirable.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management and problem-solving capability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP, and related business software systems.
