Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Senior Director–level Hydrogeologist to lead its contaminated land practice in the UK. You may base near Manchester, Bristol, or Delph, or work fully remotely, applying extensive groundwater expertise to challenging projects.

You will mentor professionals, drive client relationships, manage complex programs, and deliver robust technical reports and remedial strategies in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of direct environmental consulting experience.
• Track record of delivering projects in site investigation and remediation.
• Experience directing and managing project delivery including planning, controls and budget.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple projects.
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training (preferred).
• Valid UK driver’s license for business travel.

Responsibilities

• Grow site investigation & remediation practice through client relationships and market growth.
• Project management including planning, budgeting, schedules and client expectations.
• Data assessment and development of conceptual site models.
• Design and interpretation of hydrogeological field tests (slug, pumping, packer tests).
• Design, development and calibration of groundwater models for migration and remediation.
• Undertaking risk assessments (controlled waters and human health) with analytical and numerical tools.
• Interpret modelling results to shape remediation criteria and further works.
• Manage fieldwork tasks, sampling, drilling oversight, and contractor oversight.
• Manage remediation treatability and pilot tests with data evaluation and reports.
• Mentor and develop early/mid-career professionals.
• Prepare technical reports, letters, plans, specifications, and proposals.
• Meetings with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders; support senior team in client care.
