Job summary

Nationwide Building Society, in the Health & Social Care Sector, seeks a Senior Director to drive income/Return on Equity optimisation in real estate-structured lending. You will originate, lead transactions from start to finish, and manage key client relationships within a growing Business Banking team.

You will collaborate across the sector, build networks, and contribute to a best-in-class service while delivering tailored funding solutions.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and passion for Health and Social Care sector.
  • Experience in real estate and corporate / structured finance.
  • Strong cash flow analysis and financial modelling in Excel.
  • Experience creating a best-practice service environment.
  • Strong networking and communication skills; relevant finance qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transactions from origination through to completion, managing or supporting existing client relationships.
  • Identify and secure high-quality customers while strengthening brand visibility across local and national advisor/investor communities.

For this role, you will be part of our growing Business Banking team, meeting with and supporting customers across your assigned region. You'll be covering the London region so will need to be based locally as you will be expected to travel regularly across this region. Additionally, there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our locations. What you’ll be doing

As a key member of the Health & Social Care Sector team, you will play an important role in supporting the generation and optimisation of income and Return on Equity across the Health & Social Care sector, with a particular focus on Real Estate structured lending. You will assist in identifying and securing high-quality customers while helping to strengthen brand visibility within both local and national advisor and investor communities. The role involves evaluating opportunities with new-to-bank customers, leading transactions from origination through to completion, and managing or supporting existing client relationships. You will work closely with colleagues to build and maintain strong networks across the sector, reinforcing Virgin Money's reputation as a leading lender that delivers innovative and tailored funding solutions. Strong organisational, relationship management and project management skills will be essential to ensure exceptional customer service, providing a seamless onboarding experience for new clients and fostering effective collaboration across the wider business.

About you
  • Knowledge of and obvious passion for the Health and Social Care sector
  • Knowledge and experience within the real estate, and corporate / structured finance market and experience in financial and non-financial appraisal techniques together with credit report writing
  • Cash flow analytical skills with demonstrable experience of analysing a customer's financial statements and cash flow cycles to provide the most appropriate solutions (e.g. ratio analysis, understand cash drivers, working capital and operating cycles)
  • Experience of creating a best practice service environment that provides unique value to customers whilst being commercially attractive to the Bank
  • Confident working with and developing complex financial models in Excel with an in depth understanding of compliance and risk as it relates to the role
  • Strong networking, verbal and written communication skills to influence and support decision making and getting things done – right first time – for the customer
  • Relevant industry or vocational financial services qualification e.g. Chartered Accountant, Chartered Banker etc.
