Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters invites applications for a Senior Digital Manufacturing Engineer to join our recapitalisation team at the heart of Sheffield. You will lead and maintain digital manufacturing systems (PLM/MES/CAD-CAM) and drive integration across engineering, production planning and shop-floor execution.

The role requires hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter or Windchill, Siemens Opcenter, and CAD tools like NX or CATIA, plus LEAN methods.

Qualifications

• Experience managing PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
• Experience with MES platforms (e.g., Opcenter, Apriso).
• Strong CAD/CAM knowledge (NX, CATIA, Creo, Mastercam).
• Understanding of IT infrastructure within manufacturing.
• LEAN manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, standard work).

Responsibilities

• Lead digital integration across engineering, production planning and shop-floor execution using PLM, MES and OT systems.
• Deliver, manage and optimise OT platforms in line with digital strategy.
• Develop efficient digital workflows and robust digital thread across the product lifecycle.
• Apply LEAN techniques to reduce waste and improve flow and factory performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality and IT to drive tool adoption and data continuity.
• Provide digital work instructions, visualisations and simulations to operators.
• Assess and introduce Industry 4.0 technologies including connectivity, real-time analytics, and automation.
• Provide user training and first-line support for digital manufacturing systems.
