Our client, a leading public sector organization, is seeking a Senior Digital Java Developer to join their team on a 12-month contract basis. Active SC clearance is required.

Our client in the Public sector is recruiting for a Senior Digital Java Developer.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Recent experience with Java 11 (or later).
• Excellent understanding of TDD and BDD.
• Experience with large microservice architectures.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Willingness to work in a pair programming environment.
• Experience in implementing APIs for internal and external use.
• Skills to build a robust automated test suite supporting continuous deployment.
• Participation in the wider web development community, sharing best practices.
• Knowledge of tools and techniques used within the team.
• Provide 2nd-line support for applications and platforms, including occasional support outside office hours.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Working knowledge of Unix-like OS such as Linux and/or Mac OS X.
• Ability to research and learn new programming tools and techniques quickly.
• Understanding of Responsive Web Design.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of Jackson, JAX-RS, Mockito, ActiveMQ, or Kafka.
• Experience with MongoDB or other document databases.
• Experience building and scaling high-traffic websites.
• Experience handling large data sets and scaling their storage and processing.
