Our high-resolution LIDAR sensors deliver superior imaging at a lower cost and are used in autonomous cars, drones, and various other applications. Ouster is seeking a Digital IC Design Engineer to design and develop next-generation, commercial-grade LiDAR systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital circuit specification, design, and verification for ASIC / Mixed-Signal SoCs. We offer a start-up environment with varied responsibilities and opportunities for skill growth. This role provides a chance to impact some of the most exciting imaging systems today. The successful candidate will join our collaborative and innovative team at our Design Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Define digital architecture and block specifications.
2. Write detailed specifications.
3. Design and verify RTL using (System)Verilog/VHDL.
4. Collaborate closely with analog IC designers and subcontractors.
5. Experience with synthesis, timing closure, and STA is desirable.
6. Support DfT strategies and implementation.
7. Debug RTL/gate-level simulations and failures to identify root causes.
8. Develop scripts using Python, Perl, or similar languages.
9. Work with firmware, hardware, software, and analog IC design engineers.
10. Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
11. Prototype with FPGA (desirable).
12. Experience with P&R and MATLAB modeling of algorithms (bonus).

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant industrial experience in digital design.
• Experience with automotive electronics is a plus.
