Job summary

DVSA seeks a Senior Digital Governance and Assurance Manager to join our governance team across multiple locations including Leeds and other cities. You will lead the end-to-end digital spend approvals, chair governance forums, and provide authoritative advice on governance, risk and controls to inform senior decision-makers.

You will develop relationships with stakeholders, drive a positive assurance culture, and ensure documentation and processes align with cross-government requirements,

Qualifications

• Experience in assurance, compliance or governance to inform decision making.
• Experience setting standards and processes to enable monitoring quality.
• Experience in project, programme or portfolio delivery.
• Line management experience.
• General management and business change experience.
• Experience giving sound and authoritative advice and support.
• Presentation and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end process for digital spend approvals within DVSA, ensuring compliance with internal, GDS and wider cross-governmental assurance requirements, providing expert advice and guidance, and leading on continuous improvement.
• Lead governance lifecycle for key digital forums, including preparation and running of meetings with high-quality materials and facilitation support.
• Set direction for engagement, delivery and continuous improvement of our service offering to the portfolio and ensure it is well communicated.
• Ensure a programme of compliance and assurance reviews at key milestones to meet internal and external requirements.
• Devise and run training and information workshops on Digital Governance tools and methodologies.
• Own DVSA Digital Governance guidance, ensuring alignment with requirements and up-to-date documentation.
• Demonstrate leadership, influence, and integrity, upholding the Agency's reputation, and foster a positive assurance culture.
• Encourage professional behaviours and provide a safe environment to raise concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues across all functions for the good of DVSA and to create a high-performing Agency.
