Job summary

Purcell Architecture is seeking a Senior Digital Design (BIM) Support Specialist to join the London studio. You will provide expert day‑to‑day BIM guidance across regional studios, champion Purcell’s digital standards, and drive best practices for high‑quality project information delivery.

You will lead digital coordination activities, help shape Purcell’s digital delivery strategy, and empower project teams with training and mentoring. Travel between studios may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years’ BIM/digital support experience in architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, ACC and related digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of BS EN ISO 19650 and embedding it in live projects.
• BIM certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Confident communicator capable of leading training and workshops.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day expert support to project teams on BIM tools and digital workflows.
• Lead digital coordination activities, clash avoidance workshops, and model performance audits.
• Champion compliance with BIM standards and Purcell’s protocols across projects.
• Assist with training, CPDs, and the rollout of best‑practice workflows.
• Support the Head of BIM in evolving Purcell’s digital standards and templates.
• Oversee project information reviews ensuring client and Purcell quality requirements.
• Provide guidance to staff to develop digital skills across the studio.
• Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to resolve coordination challenges.

Based in our London Studio, this senior role provides expert, hands‑on support and guidance across Purcell’s regional studios, enabling project teams to deliver high-quality digital design and project information. Combining technical expertise with strategic insight, you will champion the effective use of digital tools, drive best practice and embed Purcell’s standards across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Working closely with Purcell’s Head of BIM, you will help shape the practice’s approach to digital delivery and support its consistent implementation. As a trusted adviser, you will develop the skills and confidence of project teams and nurture the next generation of BIM expertise within the practice.

The role focuses on supporting and enabling project teams, rather than undertaking Project Architect or Project Technologist responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert day‑to‑day support to project teams on Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Project CDE solutions, Atvero (document management), and related digital tools.
• Act as a lead facilitator for digital coordination, running clash avoidance workshops, regular model performance audits, and supporting teams through issue resolutions with external consultants.
• Champion compliance with the BS EN ISO 19650 suite of standards, embedding Purcell’s BIM protocols and ensuring consistent application across projects.
• Assist with the development and roll‑out of training, CPDs, and best‑practice workshops on modelling techniques, project setup, and digital workflows.
• Support the Head of BIM in evolving Purcell’s digital standards, templates, and guidance documents, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Oversee project information reviews, meeting both client and Purcell’s quality and compliance requirements.
• Provide support and guidance to staff, to develop digital skills across the studio.
• Collaborate with consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve coordination challenges and enhance collaboration.
• Act as a senior, trusted point of contact for digital delivery queries across Purcell’s regional studios, providing in‑person support and guidance as required, including travel between studios.
• Capture and disseminate lessons learned, helping shape practice‑wide strategies for digital innovation.

Candidate Profile

• Architectural background with a clear passion for utilising digital tools to assist and support with project delivery.
• 5-10+ years’ experience in BIM/digital support roles within architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, and associated digital platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of BS EN ISO 19650 standard and proven experience embedding these in live projects.
• BIM certification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Confident and engaging communicator, capable of leading training, workshops, and consultant meetings.
• Experienced in supporting staff at all levels.
• Proactive, highly organised, with good communication skills, with a commitment to quality and compliance.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
