Optiver in London is seeking a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to build and evolve trading systems for cryptocurrency markets. You will work closely with traders and researchers to translate market insights into production solutions and help shape the digital assets platform.

You will connect to centralised exchanges, improve reliability, and own production systems in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across teams to deliver robust, scalable software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering experience, ideally in trading/crypto.
• Strong C++ development skills for reliable production systems.
• Experience integrating with centralised crypto exchanges (Binance, Deribit, OKX).
• Cloud technologies experience (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, and failure handling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset, partnering with traders and researchers.
• Ownership-driven approach to building resilient systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build trading systems for digital asset markets.
• Develop and manage connectivity to centralised exchanges such as Binance, Deribit, and OKX.
• Work with traders and researchers to prototype and iterate trading strategies.
• Improve system reliability through automation, monitoring, and robust recovery mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot issues across trading systems and exchange integrations.
• Contribute to architecture and shape the digital assets platform.
• Take ownership of production systems and drive continuous improvements.
