Optiver in London is seeking a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to build and evolve trading systems for cryptocurrency markets. You will work closely with traders and researchers to translate market insights into production solutions and help shape the digital assets platform.

You will connect to centralised exchanges, improve reliability, and own production systems in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across teams to deliver robust, scalable software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering experience, ideally in trading/crypto.
• Strong C++ development skills for reliable production systems.
• Experience integrating with centralised crypto exchanges (Binance, Deribit, OKX).
• Cloud technologies experience (AWS, GCP) is a plus.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, networking, and failure handling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Optiver is looking for a Senior Digital Assets Software Engineer to join our Digital Assets Tech Team in London. In this role, you’ll build and evolve trading systems for cryptocurrency markets, working closely with traders and researchers to deliver solutions in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment.

You’ll play a key role in building out our digital assets platform, helping shape both the technology and engineering practices from the ground up. You’ll work side-by-side with traders and researchers, iterating quickly on ideas and translating market insights into production systems. From integrating with major centralised exchanges to improving system reliability in real-world conditions, your work will directly impact how we trade in this rapidly growing space.

What you’ll do
