Job summary

SGI is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in London to standardise build and deployment pipelines across a mixed tech estate. You will design and implement reusable GitHub Actions workflows, migrate Azure DevOps pipelines, and enable secure, automated deployments across Azure and on‑prem environments.

The role emphasises modern DevOps practices, scripting proficiency in Python/PowerShell/Bash, and strong collaboration with development teams to raise the quality and speed of software delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous software engineering experience, ideally with C#/.NET.
• Strong hands-on DevOps / CI/CD experience.
• Experience designing pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy or similar.
• Experience managing deployments across multiple environments through to production.
• Strong Python, PowerShell or Bash scripting skills.
• Experience with on-premise infrastructure, networking, firewalls and Windows/VM environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reusable GitHub Actions workflows.
• Migrate existing Azure DevOps pipelines to GitHub Actions.
• Build, test, package and deploy applications across multiple environments.
• Support deployments to Azure and on-premise Windows/VM environments.
• Implement security and quality gates including SonarQube, SAST/DAST and CVE scanning.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD standards across engineering teams.
• Work closely with application teams to improve build and deployment processes.
• Support monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog.
