Job summary

VANRATH is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong, hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience to join a major cloud transformation programme in Stockport. The role focuses on migrating on-premise infrastructure to GCP and building scalable cloud platforms with automation and IaC.

The project is a 12-month contract, hybrid with initial on-site days in Stockport and a transition to predominantly remote work as solutions stabilise.

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on GCP experience is essential
• Experience with GCP migrations or transformation programmes preferred
• Proficient in Terraform / IaC, Kubernetes (GKE), Linux and scripting
• Experience with cloud security and networking is desirable
• Automation and CI/CD experience required

Responsibilities

• Design, build and automate new GCP infrastructure
• Migrate on-prem infrastructure to GCP as part of a cloud transformation
• Work within a cloud engineering team, handover to TechOps when established
• Contribute to Terraform modules and IaC pipelines
• Support cloud migration projects and ensure security and reliability
