Job summary

Oxford Dynamics is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own cloud platforms across multiple regions, automate deployments, and strengthen security while optimizing costs. You will lead SRE practices, mentor teams, and ensure compliance with certifications in demanding defence-related environments.

The role requires hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and CI/CD tooling, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability and secure, scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps / SRE, with recent focus on AWS cloud engineering.
• Expert in AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ALB/ELB, CloudFront, ECR/ECS) and security tooling.
• Strong Kubernetes (EKS/OpenShift) administration, Helm packaging and service-mesh know-how.
• Proficient in IaC (Terraform, Terraform Cloud, CloudFormation) and Linux systems.
• Solid CI/CD engineering with GitHub Actions and Argo CD.
• Experience integrating SAST and DAST best practices.
• SSO implementation and security/compliance fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end cloud ownership – multi-account, multi-region environments using IaC.
• Platform reliability, automation, and cost-aware deployments via pipelines.
• Security hardening and IAM best practices; incident response oversight.
• SRE & monitoring – maintain SLAs, observability, and performance tuning.
• Mentor developers and champion DevSecOps practices across teams.
• Audit ownership to maintain regulatory certifications and provenance.
• Capacity & cost optimisation through cloud tooling and compute choices.
• Drift detection and post-incident reviews.
