Job summary

Centrica plc in the UK is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a small, agile team responsible for developing, maintaining and running the platforms that power our British Gas Residential workforce.

You’ll influence technology decisions, drive modern engineering practices and deliver solutions that impact colleagues and customers. This role offers hybrid UK work, with travel to site and strong opportunities to grow technical and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering DevOps across cloud platforms such as AWS, Salesforce and Dynamics 365.
  • Proven ability to design, implement and operate secure, scalable infrastructure.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy and maintain secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure across AWS, Salesforce and Dynamics 365 platforms.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, working closely with engineering teams to enable faster, safer and more efficient software delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure, deployments, monitoring and operational processes to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
  • Leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3 and Lambda, alongside Kubernetes, to deliver modern cloud-native solutions.
  • Ensure application availability, performance and resilience through proactive monitoring, incident management and disaster recovery planning.
  • Create clear technical documentation and provide guidance to development teams, helping drive best practices and continuous improvement.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll join a small, agile team responsible for developing, maintaining and running the platforms that support our British Gas Residential workforce. Location: UK-based hybrid role, Occasional travel to site.

  • Day to day Develop, deploy and maintain secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure across AWS, Salesforce and Dynamics 365 platforms.
