Job summary

Arm is hiring a CPU Performance Engineer focused on device-level analysis. You will work with silicon platforms and real devices to map system-level behaviour to microarchitectural features, and guide CPU design decisions with data-backed recommendations.

This role involves pre-silicon validation on FPGA/emulation and close collaboration with CPU architecture teams. The ideal candidate has a solid CPU fundamentals foundation, hands-on profiling experience, and the ability to translate complex

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CPU microarchitecture fundamentals (pipelines, caches, speculation, memory hierarchy).
• Experience in performance analysis (profiling, benchmarking, debugging).
• Familiarity with PMU-based profiling tools or equivalent performance counters.

Responsibilities

• Analyse performance on real devices using real-world workloads and identify CPU-related bottlenecks.
• Contribute to understanding how microarchitectural features impact real-world performance.
• Assist experiments on emulation or FPGA platforms to validate hypotheses and reproduce silicon-observed behaviours.
• Document findings and communicate insights clearly to CPU architecture teams.
