Job summary

The UK Home Office is seeking a Senior Developer to join a community-led team in Shared Applications Service (SAS). You will work in agile multidisciplinary teams within a modern cloud environment, delivering core components of our solutions and driving technology choices with autonomy.

You will write clean, secure code following a test-driven approach, ensuring re-use and openness where possible. You will also mentor and lead other engineers and support recruitment and assessment activity.

Qualifications

• Designing, reviewing and maintaining complex software applications and documentation.
• Collaborating in designing, coding, testing, documents, amends, and refactoring moderately complex programs/scripts.
• Designing test cases and scripts to predetermined criteria and reporting outcomes.
• Providing technical expertise to enable configuration of system components for tests.
• Managing and updating data systems to ensure information remains searchable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead other engineers in technical tasks.
• Support recruitment and assessment activities for new hires.
• Contribute to delivering core components and selecting technologies.
