Job summary

IQVIA Cambridge seeks a Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development to lead developability-driven projects, shaping strategies across formulation and drug delivery. You will combine experimental, computational and AI-enabled approaches to advance candidates from discovery toward development, while mentoring scientists and collaborating with clients.

In this role you will directionally influence project decisions, drive scientific innovation, and contribute to growing IQVIA's development

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Industrial R&D experience in developability, drug delivery or formulation.
• Strong knowledge of drug discovery and development process.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.
• Ability to communicate complex data to stakeholders.
• Scientific project management experience.
• Proactive, detail-oriented with adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Design, oversee and interpret developability studies to support candidate progression.
• Integrate physicochemical, solid-state, biopharmaceutics and formulation data to inform decisions.
• Apply AI-enabled and data-driven approaches for developability risk assessment.
• Translate insights into clear recommendations for teams and client programmes.
• Lead pharmaceutical development projects from proposal through delivery.
• Serve as primary scientific contact for client programmes.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists.
• Contribute to growth of the Pharmaceutical Development group.
