Job summary

HDR’s Building Engineering Services invites a Senior Design Manager (internal title: Project Manager) to lead the design delivery of complex multidisciplinary engineering projects, ensuring programme, budget, quality, safety and client satisfaction. You will provide leadership to project teams, coordinate internal disciplines and external stakeholders, and drive excellence in delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related discipline.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary projects and design teams.
• Chartered engineer or project professional preferred.
• Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in design delivery from inception to completion.
• Act as Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager depending on project scale.
• Establish objectives, delivery strategies and execution plans aligned with client requirements.
• Manage scope, programme, quality, resources and budget to achieve outcomes.
• Coordinate internal disciplines and external stakeholders; ensure QA compliance.
• Drive technical excellence and HDR quality expectations across stages.
• Support business development and practice growth.
