We are looking to grow our Capital Design Division with a Senior Design Manager to work within our Waste Networks Design team.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reporting to the Design Business Lead for Waste Networks, the Senior Design Manager will lead an integrated team of Severn Trent design staff and consultants to develop engineering solutions for a wide range of catchment-based projects.

This role will primarily be focused on delivering our programme of WINEP work in AMP 8 working across several of our Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) to improve water quality. Directly accountable for a team of design professionals and consultants, you will develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and lead a programme of design activity working closely with our supply chain.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Ideally degree qualified in a related discipline, you will be an experienced leader with strong coaching skills in solution design. You will have experience leading design projects, ideally within waste networks, however experience in waste treatment design would also be desirable.

You will have strong planning and implementation skills, with experience of managing external suppliers to deliver outputs to prescribed standards and quality measures. You will have experience of carrying out the role of Principal Designer representative with accountability for discharging Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM regulations.

You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward-thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.
