Vacancy: Senior Design Manager

Location: North East

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

I am assisting a leading Tier 1 contractor in the search for a Senior Design Manager to join the team, covering the North East region.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Work within the regional build team to support building projects.
2. Manage and deliver design information according to the approved design programme and schedule.
3. Ensure appointed design consultants perform their duties as per their appointments.
4. Contribute at both pre-construction and construction stages of projects.
5. Mentor junior staff members.
6. Produce design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointment documents, and schedules to track progress. Attend and chair meetings and workshops.
7. Ensure design compliance with relevant legislation and technical standards.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Experience as a Design or Senior Manager with a regional or national contractor.
2. Experience managing design activities during tender and construction phases.
3. Deep understanding of construction processes and materials.
4. Knowledge of current design, planning legislation, and compliance issues.
