Job summary

Blackedge Consulting in the UK is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design teams on landmark data centre projects. You will coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and digital disciplines across the project lifecycle, drive design excellence and governance, and act as the primary interface with clients, contractors and internal teams.

You’ll manage programmes, review designs for sustainability, cost and schedules, identify risks and implement mitigation

Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design in data centre projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership abilities.
• Strong coordination of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and digital designs.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Design Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating complex engineering solutions across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and digital disciplines.

You'll be responsible for driving design excellence, ensuring technical quality, managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating collaboration between clients, contractors and project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design delivery on large-scale data centre projects.
• Managing project programmes, design reviews and technical governance processes.
• Acting as a key interface between clients, contractors and internal design teams.
