- This is a site-based role on multiple projects depending on size/complexity.
- Lead and manage the design process in accordance with the design programme and design management control documents (DMP, DIRM, IRS, etc.).
- Lead and contribute to design team meetings, including specialist sub-contractor workshops.
- Drive quality outcomes that enhance buildability.
- Promote excellent customer relationships and ambitious CDP partnerships.
- Sustain collaborative communications (verbal, written, and formal) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with our contractual commitments, compliance responsibilities, and STRABAG guiding principles.
- Participate actively in aligning the design programme with commercial schedules and operational milestones, ensuring monthly progress reports (MPR) are aligned with objectives. Contribute to the coordination of the Operations / Commercial / Design triangle.
- Embrace STRABAG’s safety approach: “STOP! THINK! ACT! 1 2 3 Choose SAFETY” at all stages of design development and digital iteration.
- Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring approvals are achieved on or ahead of schedule. Oversee all digital design information / BIM activities with the project team.
- Lead the documentation review process, developing collaborative relationships with all partners, including managing MEP design information when required.
- Manage the approval process for samples and technical submittals.
- Ensure all design information complies with Employers' Requirements.
- Manage and monitor design change control, liaising with stakeholders on opportunities and risks.
- Handle third-party consents, including planning permissions, building control, and statutory legislation (including CDM).
- Coordinate sustainability objectives, including BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon, and facilitate the evidence gathering for certification.
- Complete monthly reporting activities in line with contractual and company requirements, diligently reporting project and company KPIs.
- Lead negotiations and finalize scope of services with consultants.
- Ensure all work adheres to company procedures with professionalism.
- Organize and review O&M information for accuracy using the workflow.
- Implement archiving procedures as per Employers' Requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering.
- Strong project management skills; confident in dealing with large teams, unresolved design issues, and challenging schedules.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 packages.
- Experience managing project-specific CDEs, including digital information management/BIM integration.
- Health & Safety training, e.g., CITB SMSTS, and knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM, and safety behaviors.
- Membership of CIOB, RIBA, ICE, or similar organizations.
