Senior Design Manager sought by an award-winning Main Contractor to join a major c£400m+ mixed-use development in Bedfordshire. The project spans ~4 years, with a c12-month pre-construction phase and regular London office travel before site move.

You will oversee the design process from feasibility to on-site coordination, ensuring technical compliance and driving the design team to meet timelines and commercial targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience in a design management role for a Main Contractor.
• HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.

Company & Project: An award-winning Main Contractor with a busy pipeline of work across the region are looking for a Senior Design manager to join the business working in a major project team for a c£400m+ mixed-use development project. The project will be based in Bedfordshire with the programme of work spanning c4years in duration.

The project has a c12-month pre-construction phase which will involve regular London office travel before moving to site.

The successful candidate will be involved working within team to managing the design process from early feasibility and planning stages through to on-site coordination and delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities: The Design Manager will oversee technical compliance and design management, focusing primarily on early feasibility and procurement stages, while also monitoring on-site design coordination and managing the performance of external consultants.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a liaison between the design team, client, and on-site delivery team.
• Ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Driving efficient design process aligned with project timelines and commercial targets

Desirable Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in a design management role for a Main Contractor.
