We’re working with an innovativecontractoroperating across Essex and the surrounding regions, delivering high-quality projects in sectors including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare. Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are now looking to appoint aSenior Design Managerto join their team.

The Role

As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring the design is efficient, buildable, and meets all regulatory requirements. You’ll be the key liaison between consultants, clients, and the project team, helping to drive design solutions that align with program, cost, and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from bid through delivery on multiple projects
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and the construction team to resolve design issues
• Ensure compliance with building regulations and contractual obligations
• Support value engineering and buildability reviews
• Lead design meetings and manage design deliverables in line with program milestones
• Proven experience in managing a design team
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a design management role with amain contractor
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and construction processes
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience across a range of sectors (e.g. commercial, residential, education, healthcare) is highly desirable
