Job summary

Amcogiffen in Barnsley is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Temporary Works) to lead the development of temporary works designs for rail and civil projects across the UK. You will mentor junior engineers and ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards and SHEQ.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• Chartered status (IEng/CEng) preferred.
• Proven experience in design of civil structures and temporary works for rail/civil projects.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Experience with design checking and technical assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of innovative temporary works designs from feasibility to detailed design.
• Check and endorse engineering solutions for rail and civil projects.
• Produce clear calculations, reports and sketches with full references.
• Lead site inspections and surveys to inform designs.
• Mentor Design Engineers and Trainee Engineers.
• Ensure CDM and SHEQ compliance across projects.
