Murphy is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join Murphy Applied Engineering in Glasgow. You will work on Temporary Works schemes for Energy & Power projects, representing MAE in project teams and delivering civil/structural designs with support from Senior peers.

The role requires a civil engineering degree and capability to work autonomously or in a team, with site visits and chartership progress toward ICE/IStructE. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• HND/ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Designer proficient in concrete and steel design using software and by hand using eurocodes.
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• Strong communication to develop relationships across the company.
• Open-minded approach to solving civil/structural challenges across projects.
• Willingness to visit sites and offices.
• Working towards ICE/ IStructE chartership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Temporary Works schemes across Energy & Power projects.
• Represent MAE in collaborative project teams.
• Report to Senior/Principal Design Engineer or Senior Engineering Manager.
• Carry out civil/structural designs.
• Undertake site visits when appropriate.
• Gather feedback and contribute to lessons learned sessions.
• Prepare integrated permanent works proposals to meet bid and delivery needs.
• Mentor junior staff and graduates within MAE.
