Job summary

Ampira Energy Limited is seeking a senior, hands-on Design Engineer to drive the design process from concept to production for respiratory protective equipment. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, develop robust mechanical designs and provide testing and documentation support across industrial and military customers.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical-engineering and product-design experience.
• Experience of commercial or military/defence product lifecycles.
• Experience developing products from concept to production through NPI with QA tools.
• Exposure to injection moulding, rubber moulding, precision machining and fabrication.
• Experience supporting manufactured products and rapid prototyping.
• Experience using and administering CAD data-management systems.
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Project.
• Excellent communication skills for customer, supplier and regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

• Create robust mechanical designs for safety-critical respiratory equipment across industrial and military customers.
• Take products from concept through design, development, testing and production support.
• Provide documentation and testing support for respiratory protective equipment.
• Work to regulatory standards and company design briefs.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers; manage external testing and design resources.
• Apply design and QA tools (DFMEA) during new-product introduction.
• Maintain design data in CAD data-management systems.
• Support manufactured products and resolve design-related issues.
