Job summary

White Label Recruitment Ltd in Bradford seeks an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the New Product Development team. You will act as Design Authority from concept through to design release and build support, driving continuous improvement and collaborating with engineering, quality and commercial teams.

The role emphasizes ownership of technical solutions, strong CAD capability and proven project leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experienced user of CAD systems for generating 3D models and drawings.
• Proven experience leading technical projects with strong GD&T knowledge.
• Technical knowledge across mechanical transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drive systems.
• Knowledge of material properties/standards, machining methods, sensor technologies, and drawing/BOM configuration management.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, innovative approach and quality focus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Act as Design Authority on projects, delivering the technical solution.
• Generate technical requirements from customer/product specs and develop concepts.
• Document design assumptions, trade-offs and calculations in the project file.
• Evaluate concepts for risk and peer-review technical content at gate reviews.
• Generate test plans to verify design concepts and performance.
• Use FMEA to identify and capture risks across the lifecycle.
• Prepare and present technical reports for gate reviews.
• Contribute to NPD planning and apply NPD processes/tools.
• Coordinate with Quality to define incoming inspection requirements.
• Support Publications with manuals, build books and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to protect IP.
