Job summary
Wright Engineering in Worksop is seeking an experienced Design Engineer/Design Draughtsperson to join our team. You will develop GA and fabrication drawings, create 3D layouts for material handling and structural steel projects, and support tender packages.
The role includes site surveys and collaboration with apprentices under supervision. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in design/draughting, strong AutoCAD skills, and experience with bulk handling projects.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar design/draughting role.
- Experience with bulk material handling and structural steelwork projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and 3D layouts for manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of Navisworks, Tekla, and Advance Steel beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Produce GA and fabrication drawings for workshop manufacture.
- Attend client sites for surveys and information gathering.
- Develop 3D layouts and models for plants and equipment.
- Support tender packages with design input and cost/quality optimisation.
- Coordinate with clients and third-party suppliers; mentor juniors.
