Senior Design Engineer
West Yorkshire
Salary up to £60k

Calibre Search are working alongside a growing regional Civil Engineering and Utilities services company operating throughout the north of England. With Design & Build capabilities, they work with a variety of clients ranging from Local Authorities, Private Developers to Water Companies. Due to succession planning, they are looking to add to their West Yorkshire office.

They are seeking a Senior Design Engineer with a Civil Engineering background to join their integrated team. The role involves leading the design of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects on their Yorkshire Water Framework, from outline design through to detailed design, construction, and commissioning support.

Your responsibilities will include managing design schemes at various stages, ensuring completion of design tasks, attending meetings, and reviewing the work of team members for accuracy. You will oversee coordination of multidisciplinary inputs, monitor and maintain client relationships, plan and program projects, manage budgets, and present projects for audit.

Effective communication with Team Leaders, Senior Managers, and clients is essential to ensure project relevance. You will contribute to resolving technical issues and provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and apprentices.

Applicants should be Chartered or near Chartered Engineers with a relevant institution such as ICE, possessing civil design experience, including drainage, within the UK water sector. Experience collaborating across disciplines to maintain design integrity and developing team technical capabilities is required. Demonstrating innovative and entrepreneurial thinking is encouraged.

Compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental procedures is expected. You will foster good relations with clients, design teams, stakeholders, and the public, aligning with company values and respecting surroundings.

Knowledge of the UK Water Industry and Sewer Sector Guidance standards for drainage design is necessary. Proficiency in MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civils3D is required, with familiarity with BIM integration being advantageous. Strong understanding of hydraulic design principles and manual calculation skills are essential.

A full driving license is mandatory.
