Position: Senior Design Engineer, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Skillset: Mechanical bias

Location: West Yorkshire

Hybrid: No - this position is on-site Monday to Friday

Salary: £40,000-£60,000 according to experience

Great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a company and get involved with full project lifecycle design projects. The role involves working with customers to understand and define their requirements, producing design and layout drawings, collaborating with production to ensure designs are fit for purpose and manufacture, and supporting FAT, SAT, installation, and commissioning.

You need to demonstrate professional experience in designing and developing robotics and/or automated manufacturing equipment. We are not able to consider candidates straight out of academia/education.

• Degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Engineering, or similar
• Proven experience in designing automated production equipment, bespoke machinery, robotics, or similar
• Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred; SolidWorks, Creo, Catia also considered)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to think creatively for innovative solutions
• Proficient in technical calculations
• Experience with FEA
• Experience with automation and control systems is beneficial
• Experience working within a multi-skilled environment (mechanical, pneumatic, electrical components)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Teams
