The Ideal Candidate:

Experience: Experience with Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects.

Skills:

• Pro-active management skills with confidence to lead teams in a growing and varied workload.
• Strong technical skills in highway design environments.
• Proven project management skills, delivering highway projects on time and within budget.
• Experience mentoring and supervising Highway Design staff.
• Knowledge of highways technical documents within the DMRB.
• Experience developing contract documents per Highway contracts.
• Experience in highway drainage design and use of Causeway Flow PDS software.
• Working knowledge of Civils 3D CAD software.

Qualifications: Membership of a relevant Chartered Institute is advantageous. Valid UK driving license required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver designs within schedule and budget.
• Manage resource allocation effectively.
• Collaborate with the Senior Management Team across offices and disciplines.
• Incorporate all relevant authorities and statutory requirements into designs.
• Review and approve design information and reports, providing constructive feedback.
• Ensure designs comply with MCHW, DMRB, and local guidance.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations, with proactive risk management.

Travel Requirements:

Primarily office-based with occasional site visits for progress assessment and client meetings. Locations: Gateshead, Fleet, or Birmingham offices.
