Job description

This is an important role that will support the Design Manager and provide a high-quality design and engineering service. The role will cover all aspects of building services and ensure that optimized solutions are produced, and NG Bailey’s standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the Design Manager in leading and developing the design team, acting as a mentor through on-the-job coaching to meet objectives related to building services design.
2. Contributing to monthly project reports by highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities, and advising on variances and corrective actions.
3. Collaborating with other designers and project teams during the design process, participating in reviews and appraisals.
4. Ensuring team-delivered designs are technically correct, value-driven, risk-aware, and compliant with legal and contractual standards.
5. Understanding project fee structures, cost allocations, forecasts, and schedules to support design cost management.
6. Assisting in managing project changes to recover additional costs, and proactively reporting potential issues to maximize profitability.
7. Proactively communicating with project stakeholders to enhance collaboration with operational teams.
