Job summary

Falkirk Council invites applications for a Senior Design Officer within the Building Design Unit. You will lead the delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across the Council’s property portfolio, providing contract administration and professional leadership.

You will hold a Degree in Architecture with ARB membership, and bring strong project management, mentoring and communication skills to ensure quality design and regulatory compliance. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Architect with ARB membership.
• Experience delivering architectural projects in multidisciplinary environments.
• Strong project management, organisational and analytical skills.
• Ability to mentor professional and technical staff and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support delivery of new build and refurbishment projects across the Council's operational property portfolio.
• Provide contract administration services for projects.
• Mentor professional and technical staff and promote best practice.
• Help ensure Best Value while meeting contractual, statutory and legal obligations.
