  • ADSO Certificate and Diploma in local democracy completed.
  • Degree or higher education in governance or public administration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration and governance support for Cabinet and Executive decision-making processes.
  • Ensure all Cabinet business adheres to statutory requirements and governance standards.
  • Advise senior officers and elected members on procedural and constitutional matters.
  • Maintain, coordinate, and publish the Council's Forward Plan.
  • Monitor and track key decisions, ensuring compliance with legal notice requirements.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Heads of Service to identify upcoming decisions.

Summary
  • This is a 5-6 month contract role with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £400 under an umbrella arrangement. The position requires a seasoned professional to deliver high-quality democratic, governance, and procedural support to the Cabinet, committees, panels, scrutiny bodies, elected members, and senior officers. The role involves leading governance processes, aiding executive decision-making, preparing statutory documents, providing constitutional advice, and ensuring the Council fulfills its legal and democratic responsibilities.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the administration and governance support for Cabinet and Executive decision-making processes.
  • Ensure all Cabinet business adheres to statutory requirements, constitutional provisions, and governance standards.
  • Advise senior officers and elected members on procedural and constitutional matters.

Additional Information
  • Working hours are 37 hours per week.
  • The role is based at 25 Windsor Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2EJ, United Kingdom, with a work pattern of 2 days remote and 3 days in the office.
  • The position is a temporary vacancy due to the secondment of the existing post holder.
  • Payments are made bi-weekly.
