Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking an experienced Senior Democratic Services Officer – Committees to lead the delivery of the Council's committee function. This role ensures that Council, Cabinet, Committee, Sub-Committee and Panel meetings are conducted efficiently, legally and in line with constitutional and statutory requirements.

You will work closely with Elected Members and senior officers to uphold governance standards, support democratic processes, and drive service improvements

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Democratic Services Team for an experienced and highly organised professional to lead the delivery of the Council's committee’s function.

As Senior Democratic Services Officer – Committees, you will play a pivotal role in supporting local democracy and ensuring the effective governance of the Council. You will be responsible for managing the committees function, ensuring that Council, Cabinet, Committee, Sub-Committee and Panel meetings are conducted efficiently, legally and in accordance with constitutional and statutory requirements.

Working closely with Elected Members, senior officers and key stakeholders, you will help ensure high standards of governance and decision-making across the authority.
