Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a Principal Delivery Manager to lead delivery of complex, high-risk products and services across multiple teams and suppliers. You will embed lean practices, coach on agile methods and ensure alignment with strategic objectives, reporting through governance channels.

Join the Design, Develop and Transition team to translate business challenges into effective IT and digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Substantial operational and project management experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Experience delivering IT/digital projects and programmes with multiple teams and external suppliers.
• Strong understanding of dependencies, risks, service transition and architecture integration.
• Experience with ERP, CRM, case management or GIS systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex delivery programmes involving multiple teams, contracts and suppliers.
• Embed lean practices into product and project delivery and act as escalation point for stakeholders.
• Build and maintain high-performing, collaborative project teams; mentor on Agile tools and techniques.
• Identify and remove obstacles to maintain delivery focus and drive continuous improvement.
• Align priorities, scope and delivery objectives with product owners and stakeholders.
• Track progress, manage delivery risks and report status through governance channels.
• Deputise for the Lead Delivery Manager when required.
