Job summary

Howden Re is seeking a Senior Delegated Authority Technician to support post-placement processing, including premium, claims and bordereau transactions. You will work with onshore and offshore teams to drive excellence, standardise processes, and uphold governance across the business.

The role focuses on maintaining service levels, managing risks, and delivering improvements in processing efficiency across Bowood & Programs.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within delegated authority, binder, MGA or insurance operations.
• Strong understanding of premium and claims bordereau processing.
• Experience with offshore or outsourced operational services.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Support all processing activities across Bowood & Programs.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of premium, claims and bordereau transactions.
• Drive high levels of service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor workloads and allocate resources effectively to meet business demands.
• Manage operational risks and escalation points relating to processing activities.
• Support the development of offshore processing resources.
• Ensure effective workflow management between onshore and offshore team members.
• Help monitor quality, productivity and service delivery across outsourced functions.
• Support standardisation of processing activities across the business.
• Support new systems and strategic technology initiatives.
• Develop strong relationships with brokers, technical teams, claims and finance.
• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
• Support strategic business initiatives and operational projects.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, Lloyd's, carrier and internal governance requirements.

The Role

A Senior Delegated Authority Technician is responsible for supporting all post-placement processing activities relating to Delegated Authority Placements. Ensuring the efficient, accurate and compliant handling of premium, claims and bordereau transactions.

The role will support both the onshore and offshore processing teams, driving operational excellence, service delivery, process standardisation and continuous improvement. Working closely with broking, technical, claims and finance teams, a senior Technician will ensure processing activities support the business's growth ambitions while maintaining appropriate controls and client service standards.

This role will play a key part in the ongoing transformation of Bowood & Programs Operations, helping to deliver improved servicing standards and supporting the development of our offshore and onshore operations.

What will you be doing?

• Support all processing activities across Bowood & Programs.

Who are we looking for?

Essential

• Significant experience within delegated authority, binder, MGA or insurance operations.
• Strong understanding of premium and claims bordereau processing.
• Experience with offshore or outsourced operational services.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Desirable

• London Market and Lloyd's experience.
• Knowledge of OpenTWINS, GlobalXB, Brokusure or similar market systems.
• Experience of workflow and automation technologies.
