Job summary

Marks and Spencer is seeking a Lead Decision Science Analyst in London to partner with business and product teams, translating questions into robust analytical approaches and generating evidence for confident decision-making. You will apply statistical modelling, experimentation and analytical reasoning to evaluate opportunities and measure impact across M&S.

Qualifications

• Commercially curious with strong analytical problem-solving skills to create business value.
• Strong statistical expertise with selecting, applying and interpreting methods on real-world data.
• Clear and persuasive communicator for senior and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using at least one data-focused programming language such as Python, R, PySpark.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical work on high-value opportunities with product and business stakeholders to deliver evidence for better decisions.
• Translate complex business questions into clear analytical objectives, success measures and decision-focused analysis plans.
• Conduct deep exploratory and diagnostic analysis to understand performance, drivers and opportunities to create value.
• Design and apply modelling, experimentation and quasi-experimental methods to test hypotheses and quantify impact.
• Coach and develop analysts while shaping analytical standards and capability across M&S.
