Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a fixed-term Senior Procurement and Logistics professional to lead the DDaT procurement pipeline, including high-value tenders and strategic sourcing. You will drive commercial decisions from planning through to contract award and handover, ensuring governance and compliance, with sponsorship not normally available.

Qualifications

Degree in procurement or related subject, or demonstrable procurement knowledge.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or commitment to work towards it.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning and delivery of the DDaT procurement pipeline and complex, high-value tender exercises.
Develop procurement strategies and routes to market for value for money and commercial outcomes.
Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, develop sourcing strategies and support evidence-based commercial decisions.
Ensure compliance with public procurement law, NHS requirements and Trust governance.
Manage procurement milestones, commercial risks, contract expiries and competing priorities.
Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance and Cost Improvement Programme opportunities.
Provide expert commercial advice, lead negotiations and support contract award and handover.
Prepare pipeline reports, financial evaluations and commercial recommendations for senior stakeholders.
