Job summary

BWSC is seeking a Senior DCS Engineer for our UK Head Office in Birchwood. The role combines hands-on technical support with engineering improvements in an international, multi-stakeholder environment.

You will deliver expertise across the full lifecycle of BWSC energy plants, including operations, lifecycle management, changes, and cybersecurity and compliance. Suitable candidates hold an Engineering degree and have experience in power plants or related sectors.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with understanding of DCS, SCADA and OT environments.
• Experience from power plants, utilities, process industry, marine, or offshore environments is highly relevant.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to simplify and communicate complex electrical issues.
• Proactive problem solver who takes ownership of technical challenges and delivers practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced expertise across the full lifecycle of BWSC energy plants supporting operational matters, lifecycle overviews, change management, and compliance questions.
• Provide operational support including DCS/PLC health checks, troubleshooting, outages, and emergency call-out coverage.
• Coordinate lifecycle and change management initiatives, upgrades, patching, and documentation.
• Act as technical focal point towards OEMs and service providers, ensuring SLA adherence and vendor interventions, with cybersecurity focus.

What will you do

As a Senior DCS Engineer,you will deliver advanced expertise across the full lifecycle of BWSC’s energy plants supporting the plants in operational matters, lifecycle overviews, change management procedures, supplier and SLA management as well as Cybersecurity and Compliance questions

Your core duties will include:

• Operational Support
  • Perform DCS and PLC health checks
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Participate in planned outages and maintenance activities
  • Provide emergency call-out support when required
• Lifecycle & Change Management
  • Support obsolescence and lifecycle management initiatives
  • Participate in Change Management and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patching, and backup/restore activities
  • Maintain technical documentation and asset inventories
• Act as technical focal point towards OEMs and service providers
• Follow up on SLA performance and service contracts
• Coordinate vendor interventions and support activities
• Ensure timely resolution of technical issues with suppliers
• Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Participate in OT risk assessments
  • Support vulnerability management and patching activities
  • Assist in incident response and recovery activities
  • Promote compliance with company standards and applicable regulations

What do you bring to the field

Preferably, you hold an Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plant Engineering or a related field with an understanding of DCS, SCADA and OT environments.Experience from power plants, utilities, process industry, marine, or offshore environments is highly relevant.

In addition, you hold:
