Job summary

NTT DATA in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to join our expanding Europe team. You will provide production support for IBM Db2 on z/OS, manage security, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high availability in a 24x7 enterprise environment.

Ideally you have 8-12 years of hands-on z/Mainframe and Db2 expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with global teams while driving automation and process improvements across complex

Qualifications

8-12 years hands-on experience in IBM z/Mainframe environments with DB2, security, automation, DR and prod support.
Deep understanding of Db2 architecture, administration, backup/recovery.
Experience in production support and release management for Db2 environments.
Expertise in DB2 performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Strong RACF/ACF2 security administration and access management knowledge.
Experience with HA, DR, and replication technologies.
Familiar with ITIL processes: incident, change, problem management.
Exposure to automation and process improvement initiatives.
Strong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Experience on large-scale enterprise projects in database architecture and support.
Banking/financial services domain experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Understand requirements and translate into technical Db2 specifications.
Provide production support and release management for Db2 environments.
Design and maintain physical database structures and configurations.
Build, review, test, and support application database releases.
Implement and manage RACF/ACF2 DB2 security rules and access controls.
Maintain High Availability and replication environments.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams for stable services.
Support migration, upgrade, and data conversion initiatives.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve DB2 incidents and problems.
Provide consulting on performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and optimization.
Coordinate with development during projects and release cycles.
Contribute to modernization, cloud integration, and infrastructure transformation programs.
Maintain documentation and knowledge bases.
