Job summary

DRW is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with a focus on PostgreSQL and Oracle to implement, support and maintain mission-critical database environments. The role covers clustering, storage, security, monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery across production and non-production systems.

You will collaborate with development and system engineering teams to optimize database design and usage, while keeping pace with DRW's dynamic business needs and fast-moving trading strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production PostgreSQL database engineering experience.
• 5+ years of production Oracle database engineering experience desired.
• Strong UNIX/Linux skills.
• Experience with clustering, replication and mirroring a plus.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and teamwork.
• Familiarity with SDLC, source control and change management processes.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different environments.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and optimize various database platforms and related OS environments.
• Perform database performance and query tuning.
• Implement and maintain production and non-production databases.
• Perform backups, restores, log shipping, mirroring and replication.
• Collaborate with system engineering and development teams on database design and optimization.
• Respond to production incidents and critical needs.
