Job summary

State Street in London seeks an experienced Senior Databricks / Snowflake Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of our cloud-native data platform for multi-asset TCA, analytics, and reporting. You will balance hands-on engineering with strategic architecture, prototyping new technologies and shaping platform direction.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Hands-on with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark) and Snowflake (data modelling, governance).
• Expertise in Spark, Python, SQL and ELT/ETL frameworks.
• Ability to prototype and compare emerging technologies and patterns.
• Experience with large-scale analytical platforms and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop architecture for a next-gen multi-asset TCA and analytics platform.
• Lead technology evaluations, POCs, and prototyping across data platforms.
• Architect scalable Lakehouse solutions using Databricks and Snowflake.
• Design data ingestion, transformation pipelines for real-time and batch workloads.
• Establish data governance, security, lineage, metadata management, and observability.
• Build analytics platforms capable of processing large-scale market data.
• Collaborate with researchers, product and engineering teams to translate requirements.
• Define standards and roadmaps for data warehousing, Lakehouse, streaming, and AI/ML workloads.
• Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, IaC and DataOps.
• Develop understanding of TCA, best execution workflows and regulatory requirements.
