Job summary

Nimble is seeking a Principal Databricks Engineer / Architect to set the technical direction for our most significant client engagements. You won't just write code; you'll lead, mentor and shape delivery across teams, while remaining hands-on with Databricks to keep designs practical.

You will own architecture end-to-end, champion data engineering best practices, and partner with senior clients to translate complex problems into clear, actionable plans.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on Databricks experience with platform implementations end to end.
• Proven track record owning data platform architectures at scale on major cloud providers.
• Strong command of Spark, SQL and Python; data modelling, streaming/batch patterns.
• Demonstrable experience leading teams of engineers in consultancy, product or in-house settings.
• Ability to engage senior stakeholders and contribute to commercial conversations (scoping, pricing, proposals).
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Architectural vision and technical ownership across ingestion, transformation, governance, orchestration and serving.
• Lead and grow delivery teams, set direction and unblock engineers.
• Mentor Senior and Lead consultants to deliver technical initiatives.
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to senior client stakeholders.
• Translate complexity into clear options, risks and trade-offs for engineers and executives.
• Shape pre-sales discussions, scoping and proposals to drive client outcomes.
