Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a seasoned Database Engineer/DBA in London or Burgess Hill for a hybrid contract role. You will design, deploy and operate enterprise databases, including Oracle and PostgreSQL, plus NoSQL clusters, with strong automation and CI/CD integration. A minimum of 3 on-site days weekly is expected.

You will collaborate with data architects and infra teams to implement IaC, ensure security, and drive modernisation initiatives across production environments.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL in enterprise environments.
• Experience with NoSQL platforms such as Cassandra, MongoDB or Couchbase.
• Strong automation and scripting with Python, Shell, Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience integrating database deployments into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of database security, access control and vulnerability remediation.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, administer and support relational and NoSQL databases.
• Build and maintain database environments across development, test, staging and production.
• Automate provisioning, configuration and deployment activities.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
• Manage schemas, users, roles, permissions and access controls.
• Monitor availability, performance, capacity and health.
• Troubleshoot performance, indexing, replication and connectivity issues.
• Support high availability, resilience, replication and DR.
• Participate in incident management and root-cause analysis.
• Work with application engineers, Data Architects and infra teams.
