Job summary

Awin is hiring a Senior Data Scientist in Greater London to lead end-to-end ML initiatives, forecasting, and recommendation systems. You will work with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to shape problems, define success metrics, and deliver production-ready analytics that drive commercial impact.

You will mentor peers, promote best practices, and help evolve our Data Science roadmap while balancing rapid experimentation with scalable solutions across a global organisation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.
• Experience delivering ML solutions from discovery to deployment with business impact.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and data science libraries (NumPy, PySpark, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience mentoring data scientists or providing technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of ML, forecasting, recommendation, and analytical solutions.
• Partner with Product, Commercial, Engineering, and Data teams to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks, experiments, and success metrics to measure performance.
• Apply statistical modelling and ML to solve complex business problems and generate actionable insights.
• Build scalable feature engineering, model development, and deployment workflows with Data/Software Eng teams.
• Drive rapid MVP development with a path to production solutions.
• Define best practices for model development, evaluation, monitoring and governance.
• Mentor other data scientists and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to DS roadmap and identify new opportunities for analytics.
