Job summary

Expedia Group in London is seeking a senior data scientist to advance the Localization product within Content Product Analytics. You will partner with cross-functional teams to understand user behavior, design experiments, and apply causal inference to guide product decisions.

You will develop ML models, build scalable data pipelines and dashboards, mentor teammates, and ensure responsible AI practices while influencing roadmaps through data storytelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, CS, Data Science, or related field.
• 8+ years in data science/analytics in industry.
• Expert in statistical modeling and experiment design (A/B, quasi-experiments, causal inference).
• Hands-on ML/NLP models at production scale.
• Advanced SQL and Python; production-quality code.
• Experience with large-scale unstructured text data and LLMs.
• Mentor junior data scientists; drive cross-functional projects.
• Experience with data visualization and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced ML models to solve business challenges and drive data-informed decisions.
• Design and lead complex A/B and causal experiments; own the experimentation framework for Localization.
• Translate multilingual data insights into compelling narratives for stakeholders.
• Write SQL and Python to build scalable analytics pipelines and dashboards.
• Collaborate to architect end-to-end data pipelines and intelligent systems at production scale.
• Lead and mentor data scientists and engineers.
• Safely integrate AI/ML solutions ensuring reliability, ethics, and scalability.
• Co-own metric frameworks and decision workflows with Product and business leaders.
